Jōji is a character that Eiji Miyake pretends to be in a segment of the novel number9dream that Miyake is imagining. After he arrives at the Osugi and Bosugi offices on the 81st floor of PanOpticon, by pretending to be Ran Sogabe, upon meeting the receptionist Kazuyo, Miyaki pretends to be Jōji,a co-worker who is replacing Sogabe on that day. He adds that he does Harajuku normally but is covering Sogabe’s Shinjuku clients.
